After long careers in the public and third sector, I took early retirement to become a freelance coach. Coaching - including the facilitation of Action Learning Sets - is far and away the most satisfying and worthwhile work I ever did during my time as an employee, and is the occupation at which I can be of most service as a freelance professional.
My mission is to provide results-driven, pragmatic coaching and facilitation, to those who need it, at an affordable price.
My vision is to see coaching regarded as a viable, practical development opportunity for everyone - not just senior managers.
My values include: Loyalty, honesty, fairness, humour, authenticity, acceptance, personal responsibility and punctuality.
I am particularly interested in helping:
New, young and aspiring managers
Women looking to make the best of their middle years and beyond
Young adults who need direction and confidence building
Charities and privately funded groups looking for professional assistance
I qualified as a coach in 2014 and have coached and mentored a number of people in different organisations, both internal and external to my employed role.
I also offer group facilitation services, including Action Learning Sets
I spent over 30 years in the public and charity sector, working at all levels of management. During this time, I experienced coaching and mentoring from both directions. A long history in learning & development and employee engagement, coupled with an academic understanding of psychology, underpin my ability to draw out the viewpoints of others and look for ways to unlock barriers to understanding and progress.

"I worked with Pat Kirby over Skype over a period of several months. I chose her as she had a lot of experience with dealing with general career coaching. I found her to be a very motivating coach and she made a massive difference to me. She showed a real interest in wanting to help me. I found her manner to be very non-judgemental, approachable and sensitive. I would definitely recommend her as a coach.
G Ross, CEO Jewish Legacy
"I have really enjoyed working with Pat and drawing from her wealth of experience. She has a very broad resource which can suit all and was really helpful as I was growing my own understanding of management styles."
A Fokidou, Fundraising Manager
"The coaching that Pat provided to my staff member was very valuable indeed. It was great to have someone that he could talk to confidentially when he was experiencing challenges. Although I am a very supportive manager to have an extra layer of support meant that he could openly discuss his concerns. I felt happy knowing that he had someone to help him through times of stress."
Head of Division, Livability
"Pat is a great life coach. She helped me to identify my goals for life and professionally, as well as [identifying] the barriers that were holding me back from achieving them. She made me accountable and excited about the future and achieving my true potential."
I have worked with: Livability; Jewish Care; Jewish Legacy, UJIA

My Coaching Styles
My coaching style is casual yet probing I want the client to set the pace and direction while I challenge assumptions and encourage them to reflect. I then work with the client to develop personal and/or professional strategies that will support the achievement of their goals.
My aim as a coach is to witness those 'light-bulb moments, whatever they may signify. Its all about drawing out that statement or realisation, which then tunes out the interference and shows the client a clear path ahead.
I would love to hear from anyone who is open to the process and not afraid to look inside themselves for answers. For my part, I will help you in your explorations in a positive and supportive way, because it is my purpose and passion to see you succeed.
Career planning - especially interested in new, young and/or aspiring managers
